I have been a smoker close to twenty five years. I have emphysema. When I am working in the heat, I can’t breathe. Please pray for me so that I can quit smoking and get better.

Dear Child of God, I pray that you will know the love of God cradling you in His arms as you seek His help with your addiction. Lord, Your Word tells us that You were tempted in all things but without sin. I lift J to You who is struggling with the effects of smoking and the addiction that this had brought into J’s life. We all fall short of Your glory and sometimes we feel so far from You that the addictions are so strong that it’s hard to overcome. Thank You that You have fought this battle for J already and claimed victory. I pray that J will lean on You and have the strength to stop this habit. I pray that You will fill her hands with creative things to do so that she is busy. I pray that Your mercy will rest on her and she will be strong in You. Every time she reaches out for a cigarette I pray that You will remind her of how You created her body as a temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell in and every time J thinks about it I pray that You will take every thought captive and place it in submission to You. Show J Your amazing power and let J give this addiction to You every day so that Your glory can shine through. Amen.
