Thank you, Abba, for dressing me with your spiritual armour. I put on the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, shoes of peace, the sword of your word and the shield of faith. Thank you for covering me with your favour and love like a shield, Abba. In Jesus’ name Amen.

Praying that you are powerfully and defensively protected with the full Armour of God.
(Last week I heard a sermon which has changed my own inner picture of what Paul speaks of. I’d previously imagined myself having to keep re-positioning a small round shield to defend myself. Now realise Paul refers to how the Romans held very large oblong shields solidly in front of them so they were very securely covered (Faith), and only their eyes visible above this. The soldier’s head covered and protected with the strong helmet (the knowledge of our Salvation) and their feet able to move quickly and nimbly (wearing the shoes of Peace).
Paul tells us God provides His Divine Armour which is incredibly powerful. God bless you.
