Marriage and family separation
Added 2 months ago
My husband of 25 years, Peter, moved out of our home 3 years ago and has since tried to have no contact with me. For this time I have been standing the best way I know how for our marriage, and have had to distance myself from many naysayers. Earlier this year Pete was hospitalised for severe anxiety.
Recently, out of the blue, there was a letter in the mailbox requesting that I make contact with a local family dispute resolution organization contacted by Pete, regarding a meeting to ‘agree’ on the division of our home and property. This is the only home our three children have known. The thought of this playing out, quietly terrifies me. I am concerned every day about the cumulative effects this is all having on the kids – Emma (21), Adam (19) and Sarah (17) – and on so many others. It is truly like Pete is actually ‘blind’ to it all. He doesn’t look, sound or act like my husband. There are not many days that are not difficult. I pray and await my restoration miracle.
