God talking.

Added 3 years ago

I get a intense feeling when I have made a discion and the Lord wants me to change it by saying (no) in that direction, and when I say yes I am listening the intensity goes away does this mean I am listening to God or am I doing things before asking God His direction? Thank you.

Dear Child of God, I pray that you will learn to discern that still small voice of God. As you pray and seek direction for your life I pray that He will guide you by His Word. We know that God’s Word id a light to our feet and a guide to our path so I pray that you are guided by that wonderful light illuminating your path. Be strong and courageous and always test your decisions against the Word. God has plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and hope. Amen.

There is a verse in Proverbs that says, ‘lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths’.

As Christians we believe that the Lord speaks to our hearts through the Holy Spirit. The latter does not stand over us, as it were, but He is our guide standing beside us through life. By way of interest, in the Greek of the New Testament, His name is the Paraclete which simply means someone called (“clete”) to our side (“Para”). Much has been written in the Bible about the work of the Spirit; here are a few such quotes which may interest you:

John 16:13
When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.

Romans 8:26, 27
Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And He who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

2 Corinthians 1:21
And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us and who has given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

When we are about to make an important decision, it is always a good idea to pray for spiritual guidance and to read some relevant passages of Scripture. Once we feel that we understand in our heart what would be in the Lord’s will, we should go ahead without agonising as to whether it is right or wrong. Whatever the outcome, we should give thanks to Him for His love and provision for us.
