Asking for God’s clarity and protection

I am part of a social justice team that is making a mission trip to Ghana . We are partnering with IJM and GlobeServe there to help change minds and hearts of the boatmasters on Lake Volta where they are using child slaves to work in the fishing trade. Many of these boatmasters claim to be Christian, yet they are taking children as young as 8 as slaves, lying to these kids’ families that they will be taken care of, given schooling, etc.

We need prayers for a TRUE change in hearts for these boatmasters and forgiveness of their sins, that they may be moved to let these children go;

prayers that the children will be set free, not just from slavery but from the pain and trauma that they have experienced when they are rescued from the lake;

prayers for the safety of the team traveling there, both physically and spiritually; and

prayers for me specifically as I try to determine if God wants me on this trip NOW, or if I am to support it as a lead for a stay-and-pray team here in the States instead
