I married my husband a year ago fully aware that he was an alcoholic I also knew he was a believer and thought with some time in the word things would get better. Oddly enough shortly after being married our relationship has taken a turn. There’s been less stability. Last month he was fired for drinking on the job. He has been very distant since we had an argument several weeks after he was fired, resulting in the police being called. I need God to restore my marriage and bring my husband to repentance. I need God’s help to walk a worthy testimony and a blameless one in front of my husband so he can see what a true change of heart looks like.

This serenity prayer has helped many. My prayer is that it helps you and your husband return to the faith, joy and peace you desire in your marriage.
– God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference.
I pray that your husband finds Jesus in his heart so strongly that he is overwhelmed with love for God. May his thirst for a strong, happy, successful marriage with you override any other thirst he has.
Until then, please attend Al-Anon meetings for yourself. They are for friends and family of those associated with alcoholics.
