Understanding the Bible

Added 2 months ago

I am disabled and have been studying the Bible for over two years. I started by asking Jesus to forgive me of my sins. I pray several times a day and trying my very best to love a life of God. My wife is still living a life of this world. Please pray for me to have a better understanding of God’s word and my wife to be saved. God Bless you. Philip

Your problem seems like something that I’ve found in my own life and I was able to read books like the Purpose Driven Life and C.S. Lewis and other authors and books to grow my understanding and to give me some better sense of what I’ve been reading in the New and Old Testaments.

Abba Father, we come to you in the name of your son, and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Thank you Abba Father, for your love and mercies that are new every day.
Thank you for your son, our Lord Jesus who paid in full the penalty of our sins, through his death upon the cross at Calvery.
Thank you, Lord Jesus that you rose from the grave and ascended back to Heaven, where you continue to intercede for us.
Abba Father, we pray that you will bless your faithful servant with wisdom and understanding, that you will send your Holy Spirit to lead, guide and teach your word.
We claim the promise from James 1:5 “If any lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him”
We also claim the promise from Psalm 1:1-2 “Blessed is the man that standeth not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD and in his law does he meditate day and night”
Abba Father, we pray for your faithful servant’s wife, that her heart will be softened to receive your word, and to accept your son, Jesus as her personal saviour this day, according to your will, Abba Father.
We claim promise from John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whomsover believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”
In the mighty and excellent name of thy son, and our Lord and Saviour Jesus we pray, Amen.
